First Customer! A Big Step Forward

A Milestone Worth Celebrating

I have great news: I landed my first customer today! I’m thrilled—truly, deeply thrilled. It only took a couple of days, and while I know it’s just the beginning, it’s a powerful validation of the work I’ve been doing.

Next up? Setting a new goal. I’m aiming for five customers. That feels ambitious but achievable. The key now is to incorporate feedback quickly, keep adapting the offering, and stay laser-focused on where the traction is—and where it isn’t.

Evolving Daily, Learning Fast

This early stage is a whirlwind of pivots. I’m constantly refining the services I offer—sometimes daily. Some offerings still haven’t landed a customer, and that’s where my attention is going next. I’m tracking what resonates and what doesn’t, and using that to guide the next round of adjustments.

Tracking What Matters

Alongside these product iterations, I’ve started tracking three core metrics:

  • Number of people I reach out to
  • Number of meetings I book
  • Number of actual purchases made

These are the signals I’m using to measure progress. It’s basic, but it’s enough to build a learning loop and keep myself grounded in real results.

Facing the Hard Questions

There’s another layer, too—less glamorous, but just as critical. I’m looking at the money in the bank and asking, how much time does this give me? At some point, I’ll need to draw a line in the sand: if I haven’t built a viable business by then, it’s time to pause and consider other options.

That might mean driving for Uber or delivering for Amazon—whatever it takes. Because while I’m committed to this path, I also want to be responsible about the risks I’m taking. Every small business owner needs to ask that hard question: At what point do we say this isn’t working?

Excited—and Realistic

So forgive me if this post is a bit more reflective than usual. Yes, I’m excited. Yes, I’m energized. But I’m also trying to stay grounded.

I made a sale. That means I can sell.

Now it’s time to get better at it.

Onward and upward—I’m looking forward to seeing what tomorrow brings.
